Frequently Asked Questions
What happens during the initial two-hour visit?
We strive to ensure that you and the doctor are together for almost the entirety of the two hours, as this approach has proven to be very effective in gaining full understanding of your health. Often, this allows us to begin to implement remedies that same day.
We will specify that you arrive early enough that you and our staff can review medications, check your vital signs, do tests and such so that when the appointment with the doctor begins, the full amount of time will be available.
Any necessary breaks can be kept to a minimum.
The first appointment tends to be a relaxed, pleasant experience for patients, the doctor and staff. It also usually succeeds in giving clear shape to unraveling the complex in order to simplify what to do to gain improvement.
Does the doctor also treat the issue or just diagnose?
Yes, he diagnoses and treats.
Some problems are most appropriately managed by your primary care doctor or a specialist. However, 100% of the time that your health issues remain unsolved, Dr. Sloan will pursue finding and gaining best treatment.
Does Dr. Sloan also serve as my primary care doctor?
Dr. Sloan suggests that we start out on a consultation basis. In time, if desired by you, Dr. Sloan’s becoming your personal physician could be best.
Are all visits one or two hours?
Not at all.
Though the initial work together will usually take two or more hours, over time the normal visits often call for either a 15 minute or a 30 minute appointment.
May I do phone visits?
Though the initial evaluation must be done in person, phone or office visits often serve equally well for follow-up.
It is generally your choice entirely. CCC will never insist on a phone visit. If a follow-up physical exam or in-person testing is needed an in-person visit may be the only good option.
